'I’m a little worried' - Vitor Pereira has one concern for Wolves heading into next season

Wolves seem to be going in the right direction under Vitor Pereira. The Molineux manager, however, has one worry heading into next season.

It was Pereira’s record-breaking run that ultimately managed to steer Wolves away from the drop zone last campaign.

The Portuguese, however, can no longer rely on the likes of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri following their moves to Manchester.

Wolves have already signed Fer Lopez in an attempt to fill the void, but Pereira seems to recognise the need for further reinforcements this summer

Vitor Pereira worried about transfer window

Wolves got off to the worst start possible under Gary O’Neil last season, and Molineux fans won’t want a repeat of that this time around.

To avoid such a start, Wolves will have to invest and replace the output of Cunha and co.

This is something Pereira himself seems to recognise, admitting to Marca he is currently anxious about Wolves’ lack of business.

“We have a good, strong team, but I’m a little worried about the situation. We must bring in quality players because expectations are growing,” (Marca print edition 22/06/2025).

With Manchester City up first in the Premier League, Wolves face a difficult start to the season – one that will be made even harder if Fosun don’t back Pereira.

Pereira’s ambition for Wolves next season

Domenico Teti’s Wolves arrival will no doubt give Pereira more of a say in what goes on behind the scenes at Molineux.

With this in mind, the Portuguese boss will be hoping the club can match his ambitions moving forward, particularly when it comes to transfers.

“My expectation is to fight for a mid-table finish. I didn’t come to the Premier League to fight to avoid relegation,” the Molineux manager relayed to Marca.

“I came here with the idea of building a strong, consistent project. My goal is to create a competitive team that can compete against anyone, and both the club and I are looking for solutions.

“My ambition, and that of the fans, will be even higher next season.”
