Everton have still not brought in any new faces this summer, and fans are hoping to see that change this coming week.
The Toffees announced recently that Carlos Alcaraz has been signed permanently. But of course, the Argentine has been with the club since signing on loan in January, meaning he is not technically a new face.
There have been plenty of links up to now.
But thus far, Everton have not signed anyone, with most of the focus surrounding the outgoings.
And one player who could yet leave the club is Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
It was recently claimed that Calvert-Lewin was set to leave Everton with the two parties failing to reach an agreement over an extension. But Everton said that talks were still in progress.
Now, Sean Dyche has weighed in on the situation – and he has a warning for the Toffees.

Calvert-Lewin’s contract expires on June 30.
Time is now really of the essence for the Toffees if they wish to get him tied down.
Some feel comfortable with the prospect of him moving on, with Calvert-Lewin having struggled last season.

But one man who has suggested Calvert-Lewin is worth fighting to keep is his former manager Sean Dyche, who has warned Everton about the task of finding a good striker these days.
He told talkSPORT: “He’s still got plenty to offer, he’s not old he’s still, I think he’s 27 [28], around that mark.”
“Commenting on if he has any inside information on Calvert-Lewin staying, Dyche added: “I don’t fidget around with all the people finding out what’s going on in the gossip.
“So I don’t know any of that, but I did read that they were in some form of talks with Dom and you can see why – strikers are hard to find.
“And if you can get him going, I know that’s been a bit of an if, because he’s sort of nearly got going again and then not quite got firing.
“But if you can, then you’ve got to be looking at it as a serious option. But it is keeping him fit or getting him fit, keeping him fit, and that motivation to really go and push hard to be the top striker I know he can be.”
In his interview with talkSPORT, Dyche also claimed Everton tried to sign Viktor Gyokeres. But ultimately, the Swede, now extremely coveted after shining at Sporting CP, became too expensive.

Many Everton fans will disagree with Dyche over Calvert-Lewin
This was perhaps a predictable assessment from Dyche about Calvert-Lewin, given he has worked closely with the player.
But a lot of Everton fans are unlikely to share this verdict.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin for Everton (2016-present)
Appearances – 273
Goals – 71
Assists – 22
Ultimately, Calvert-Lewin has scored just 10 Premier League goals over the last two seasons, which is not the mark of a top striker.
Calvert-Lewin’s injury record has also not been good.
If Everton are not able to keep hold of Calvert-Lewin, there need not be feelings of disappointment. It’s a chance to make a change to the striker department and get a fresh face in.
