Leeds United [](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/)are set to complete their second piece of incoming summer business with the arrival of Jaka Bijol from Udinese. The 26-year-old centre-back [has agreed to sign for the Whites in a deal worth £18million](https://www.leeds-live.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/leeds-united-co-owner-responds-31907398), having completed his medical last week, and an announcement is expected to follow.
Daniel Farke's side beat late competition from Newcastle United for Bijol's signature and he is expected to become their second signing, after Lukas Nmecha arrived on a free transfer from Wolfsburg.
After Leeds confirm Bijol's move to Elland Road, who should the Whites target next? Well, the left-back area is one of great importance considering that Junior Firpo is out of contract and wanted by Real Betis. While Firpo hasn't officially rejected Leeds' offer yet, there is an expectation that he is going to sign for the La Liga club. Reports suggested that Betis are prepared to hand him a three-year deal.
Should Firpo move to Betis, _Leeds Live_ understands that **Gabriel Gudmundsson** is an option to replace him. The Whites are very interested in the Lille man but are not close to anything other than Bijol.
Gudmundsson, a 15-time Sweden international, has been at Lille since 2021, having signed a five-year contract following his departure from Dutch side Groningen. He made 45 appearances for the French team last season and helped them finish fifth in Ligue 1, one point behind the Champions League places.
Although Lille have qualified for the Europa League, Gudmundsson could be set to leave Lille as he has just one year left on his contract. Burnley and Everton are among the others interested in the Swede. Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Hugo Bueno is another option being considered, with Spanish paper Marca saying the Whites are very keen on the Spanish under-21 international.
Elsewhere, Leeds want to strengthen their midfield department after Josuha Guilavogui departed at the end of his contract and Joe Rothwell returned to Bournemouth. **Noah Sadiki** of Union Saint-Gilloise has emerged as a target and the Whites, like Gudmundsson, are very interested in the 20-year-old.
Sadiki appeared 55 times for USG during the 2024/25 season. 39 of them appearances came as USG won the Jupiler Pro League for the first time in 90 years, while 10 were in the Europa League.
The DR Congo midfielder is rated high in Belgium and it was reported last week that Leeds have lodged a £8.5million bid in attempt to secure his signature. Sadiki was often used as one of the two defensive-minded midfielders at USG last season, though he can be used more advanced or as part of the back-line.
An alternative to Sadiki is Sheffield United's Gustavo Hamer. The Whites have been linked with the former Coventry City midfielder for some time and there was an expectation that he would leave after the Blades failed to secure promotion. However, new head coach Ruben Selles might have other ideas.
Either way, Leeds' next two transfers should be a left-back and then a central midfielder. Gudmundsson is one that appears the most appealing to replace Firpo, while Sadiki could be a very exciting prospect in midfield.
After that, a striker should be the priority. Leeds have signed Nmecha to add to Joel Piroe, but the Whites need to add one more should Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph leave this summer.
