Report: Wolves 'scouting' Brazilian gem after eye-catching Chelsea display

The Brazilian market seems to be high on Wolves’ radar this summer, with another South American star reportedly on the club’s radar.

Brazil has been a happy hunting ground for Wolves in recent years, shown by the arrivals of Joao Gomes and Andre.

Fosun are seemingly looking to continue that successful trend this summer, with Wolves interested in Richard Rios as well as Sao Paulo’s Lucas Ferreira.

The list of South American targets doesn’t stop there, however, with yet another Brazilian gem entering the fray.

Wolves scouting Wallace Yan ahead of possible move

Joao Gomes’ 2023 arrival from Flamengo has gone down as a huge success, and Wolves could soon repeat that masterstroke this summer.

That is according to Sou Rubro-negro de Coração, who claim Wolves are once again targeting another of Flamengo’s players – namely, Wallace Yan.

The Brazilian outlet claims that Wolves are reportedly scouting the 20-year-old and have placed a keen eye on his recent cameo versus Chelsea in the Club World Cup.

Despite only being on the field for eight minutes, Yan would more than make his mark, grabbing Flamengo’s third of the game and sealing their surprise win over the Blues.

If the Brazilian can continue to perform on the biggest stage, Wolves’ interest will no doubt continue to grow.

Wolves move may be too early for Yan

Yan’s showing against Chelsea would have given the Brazilian a small insight into Premier League life, but the 20-year-old is still a long way from being fully ready for English football.

With only 16 senior appearances for Flamengo, Yan is very inexperienced at the top level and is still in the baby stages of his career.

Wolves will recognise the Brazilian’s talent, but his inexperience may discourage Fosun from making a move as early as this summer.

With that being said, it could be worth holding out for another year before Wolves table an offer.
