Manchester United consider including Antony in deal for Viktor Gyokeres

Manchester United have been heavily linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres.

The Red Devils are in the market for a striker this summer following the struggles of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee last season.

They wanted Liam Delap who opted to join Chelsea, forcing the Premier League giants to turn their focus on Gyokeres.

According to journalist Sebastian Vidal, the Red Devils are considering including Antony as part of a deal for the 27-year-old.

Sporting Lisbon are looking to sign a replacement for Gyokeres, who is expected to leave the Portuguese club this summer.

United could offer Antony plus an estimated fee of £35 million to tempt Sporting into selling their prized asset.

Gyokeres has been earning rave reviews in Portugal since joining the club in 2023.

He has scored 97 goals and provided 28 assists in over 100 appearances, powering his side to two Primeira Liga titles.

But the striker now wants to test himself in a bigger league, with United and Arsenal keen to secure his signature.

Gyokeres reportedly prefers a move to the Gunners, who can offer him Champions League football.

But the North Londoners are not prepared to meet Sporting’s £68-85m valuation for the player.

United haven’t qualified for any form of European football after losing the Europa League final to Tottenham Hotspur and finishing 15th in the Premier League.

However, Gyokeres could be tempted to reunite with his former Sporting boss Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
