Indiana Pacers return to Oklahoma City tonight for winner-takes-all Game 7 of NBA Finals

OKLAHOMA CITY (WNDU) - The Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder will square off in Game 7 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night.

It’s the first time since 2016 that the NBA’s championship series needed all seven games, and it’s only the 20th Game 7 of the finals in league history, [according to ESPN](https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/45558159/everything-know-pacers-thunder-2025-nba-final-game-7-finale).

The upset-minded Pacers forced this historic Game 7 after [rolling past the Thunder 108-91](https://www.wndu.com/2025/06/20/indiana-pacers-send-nba-finals-back-oklahoma-city-game-7-beating-thunder-108-91/) on Thursday night.

The Thunder have been heavily favored throughout the NBA Finals, and Sunday’s final game will be no different.

But as we’ve come to learn with this Pacers team, anything is possible after making an improbable playoff run filled with historic comebacks and crazy buzzer beaters.

History doesn’t favor the Pacers’ chances, as home teams are 15-4 in Game 7 of the finals. But at the same time, history does favor the Pacers as the aforementioned last Game 7 in 2016 went the way of the LeBron James-led Cleveland Cavaliers, who defeated the 73-win Golden State Warriors on their home floor to complete the only 3-1 comeback in NBA Finals history.

If the Pacers win Game 7, they’ll win their first NBA championship in franchise history. If the Thunder win, it will be the franchise’s first title since they won it all as the Seattle SuperSonics in 1979.

Game 7 tips off tonight at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
