Kevin Durant didn't even make it to the playoffs in 2025, but he has managed to dominate the headlines during it. A Durant trade has been one of the biggest talking points in recent weeks, as a parting of ways with the Phoenix Suns has seemed inevitable.
NBA insider Shams Charania revealed that Durant was interested in going to the Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, or Houston Rockets, and he would certainly elevate all those teams.
Despite the Suns enduring a woeful 2024-25 campaign, in which they finished 11th in the West with a 36-46 record, Durant showed he has plenty of gas left in the tank.

Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 0.8 steals and 1.2 blocks per game in 2024-25. The 36-year-old was his usual efficient self as well, shooting 52.7% from the field and 43.0% from beyond the arc.
Rumors have been flying around for weeks about a Durant trade, and it appears this saga will end soon enough. Suns insider John Gambadoro reported that a deal is set to be finalised on Sunday or Monday.
Fans had some interesting reactions to this update.
"Kinda rude to make this happen on Game 7 day. Just wait a day," said one fan.
"I'm also expecting to be disappointed by how this deal turns out, today or tomorrow," said another fan.
"Detroit gonna swoop in like Milwaukee did with Dame," one fan expects a big twist.
"Just get it over with. He’s 37," one fan stated.
"And the Suns won’t get the package they want. I’m preparing for my timeline to be filled with angry Suns fans," another fan said.
"Kevin Durant is a Miami Heat. You heard it here first," stated a fan.
It will be interesting to see where Durant ends up. His stint with the Suns proved to be a disappointment as they never even got to the Western Conference finals, and he'd be hoping his fortunes would change at his next destination.
