Nayef Aguerd does look like the most likely ‘early’ sale on the horizon: Linked first with a pointless Juventus part-exchange, then yesterday a low Roma offer reputed to be about £15 million, it does seem as though the market is finally rousing itself to take ‘West Ham’s want-away’ – well, away.
The [first exchange](https://www.claretandhugh.info/crazy-aguerd-swap-report-ignores-an-obvious-solution/) mooted by Juventus was pretty smartly swatted away by West Ham, who have no interest in exchanging Aguerd for **Daniele Rugani** , a 30 year old defender who is past his peak in every sense.
However news from Italy today suggests a more juicy offering could soon be on the table. [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juventus-nico-gonzalez-gia-al-capolinea-comolli-fa-il-prezzo-e-4-69322) report that Juve are willing to part with their 27 year old Argentine attacker **Nicolás González**: Indeed the outlet claims West Ham have already been in touch:
_“The right price? Around 26/27 million euros, a bargain for a player of this level. So far there have been some timid interests – from France, with De Zerbi’s Marseille, from the Premier League with Brentford and West Ham”._
The Hammers have enquired about González, Juventus want Aguerd: I’ll leave you to join the dots on that one. It would ship out Aguerd and bring in a forward who is still at his peak for one thing. Whether Nicolás González is seen as one who can fit Potter’s system is indeed another. One to watch next week.
