Leeds United have been linked with a move for Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope as they look to replace Illan Meslier.
Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has assessed the Englishman’s knee injury from last season, which kept him out of action for over a month.
The 33-year-old played 28 out of the Magpies’ 38 Premier League games under Eddie Howe.

Pope to clear his medical despite his knee injury
The Newcastle keeper should have no issues clearing his medical despite his knee injury last season, according to Dr Brar.
Leeds have made an approach to sign Pope but it was rebuffed by the St James’ Park outfit. (Chronicle Live, 3 June)

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Pope: “Leeds may take a closer look at his recent knee injury and if there’s anything outside normal variance when it comes to the joint.
“However, I do not see this causing issues with him clearing the medical.
“*He played the last three months of the season without any problems and that’s always a positive.*“

Leeds United need to get a new keeper this summer
Despite Pope not seemingly interested on a move, it’s imperative for Leeds United to sign a new keeper this summer.
Meslier has struggled and Karl Darlow cannot be the go-to option in the Premier League as they’ll need a better calibre of stopper.
Leeds could be given the edge to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Southampton and he could become a priority in the coming weeks.
They could even cash in on Meslier and use those funds to strengthen other areas.
