Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest contract is “amazing” news for the players he helps find their best form.
The Reds manager has penned a new three-year deal at the City Ground after leading the club to their highest finish in 30 years and earning their return to Europe.
For winger Callum Hudson-Odoi, it’s a boost to hear of Nuno affirming his commitment to the club.
The England international said Nuno brings out the best in his squad and that certainly seems true for the winger.
He’s had the best two scoring seasons of his career since Nuno took charge, scoring 12 goals in 52 Premier League appearances since the Portuguese boss was handed the reins.
“It’s amazing,” Hudson-Odoi told Sky Sports. “He’s done amazing work since he came in. Everyone’s really happy.
“The players will be really happy, the staff will be really happy, and the fans. Obviously we’re delighted that he’s signed a new contract and hopefully it will lead to many more successful things.
“He’s a great manager, a great person to speak to as well. He has a good conversation with everybody.
“He makes everyone feel good, he makes sure you’re ready for the game and ready for training. He gets the best out of you. I’m happy for him.”
Nuno only had one year remaining on his previous deal and there had been speculation last month that he would consider walking away from the City Ground.
Those rumours have now been put to bed and allow for greater focus on the upcoming campaign.
Pre-season training is now just two weeks away, and so for players like Hudson-Odoi, it means ramping up their off-season work.
He added: “Pre-season, we’re back on July 7, so I need to start getting the work in fully now! I’ll get back ready.”
