After spending 10 seasons at Manchester City, Sergio Aguero managed to cement his reputation as one of the best strikers in Premier League history.
The Argentine’s ruthlessness in front of goal, quick feet, searing pace and incredible consistency made him a true phenomenon of a number nine.
Signing for a City side in 2011 that were looking to become winners, Sergio Aguero managed to spearhead the Sky Blues to attain greatness across multiple campaigns, which further embellishes his legacy.
Looking at him as a player, even Kevin De Bruyne called Aguero “unbelievable” and raved about his all-round game.
Steven Gerrard says Luis Suarez was better than Sergio Aguero
Erling Haaland admitted Sergio Aguero was better than him as well despite being one of the most feared goalscorers in recent memory.
Even Virgil van Dijk revealed Aguero troubled him, which highlights the former City forward’s brilliance as the Dutchman is arguably the best centre-back to have ever graced the Premier League.

However, Steven Gerrard was asked which player was better out of the four-time Premier League winner and Luis Suarez by Tik Tok creator FUT Crunch.
While Martin Keown felt Aguero was better than Suarez, Gerrard sided with his former Liverpool teammate.
Sergio Aguero stats compared to Luis Suarez
In the Premier League, Sergio Aguero was undoubtedly superior to Luis Suarez, scoring 125 more goals than the Inter Miami marksman.
STATS SERGIO AGUERO LUIS SUAREZ
PREMIER LEAGUE GOALS 184 69
PREMIER LEAGUE ASSISTS 47 23
TOTAL GOALS 385 504
TOTAL ASSISTS 113 270
TOTAL MATCHES PLAYED 685 828
However, Steven Gerrard may have a point when picking Suarez over Aguero as the better player as the Uruguayan’s goal and assist tally surpasses that of the Buenos-Aires goalscorer.
But the Manchester City legend could well have matched the Champions League winner in terms of his goal tally had he not been as injury-prone, playing 685 games in his career while the latter played 828.
Ultimately, football is a game of opinions and City fans would perhaps still vouch for Sergio Aguero as an out-and-out striker while perhaps admitting that Luis Suarez was a superior creator.
