The long-awaited trade news came down on Sunday morning as NBA fans prepare for an intense Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
Kevin Durant is once again on the move.
According to ESPN's Shams Charania, the Phoenix Suns are trading Durant to the Houston Rockets, getting a package of Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 NBA draft, and a total of five second-round picks.
This is a big haul for Durant, who is on the back-half of his career at the age of 36. However, the two-time NBA Champion is still playing some of the best basketball of his career, averaging 26 points per game this past season.

It appears that Durant learned about the news around the same time that the rest of the public did as well. While a deal was expected to happen in the near future, it wasn't clear exactly as to when it would get announced.
It just so happens that Durant was on stage with Taylor Rooks at the Fanatics Fest when the official news broke.
"It seems like there is a huge report that just dropped regarding KD's next destination," Rooks said on stage. "I believe that KD has been traded to the Houston Rockets."
The crowd erupted with applause, while KD sat back on the stage with a grin. It appears that he was unsurprised by the news, ultimately. Rooks smartly asked Durant of his instant reaction while on stage.
"We're gonna see, man," Durant said. "We're gonna see what happens."
Assuming that Durant can continue to play at a high level for the next couple of years, the Rockets will be in a great position to compete in the Western Conference, with the elite scorer joining the group of Amen Thompson, Alperen Sengun, and Fred VanVleet.
