The Kevin Durant trade sweepstakes are over, as the Phoenix Suns have traded the future Hall of Famer to the Houston Rockets.
The Suns are trading Durant to the Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft and five second-round picks.
Houston was the second seed in the West this season. The team now has Durant, Alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson and Jabari Smith Jr.
The Suns traded Durant while he was talking to Taylor Rooks at Fanatics Fest in New York. Fans in the audience went crazy when Shams Charania of ESPN broke the news on X.
A top 75 player of all time, Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Suns this season in 62 games. The 15-time All-Star shot 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 83.9% from the free-throw line.
Durant has played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and Suns. He hasn’t gotten past the second round of the playoffs since leaving the Warriors in the summer of 2019.
Durant won the 2014 MVP Award with OKC and back-to-back titles and Finals MVPs with Golden State in 2017 and 2018.

Rockets coach Ime Udoka was an assistant coach with the Nets in 2020-21 when Durant played in Brooklyn. They have a close relationship.
