Everton look set to add a new face to their squad this summer.
It was shared on Sunday that the Toffees had reached a verbal agreement to sign Kenny Tete, with the full-back set to become a free agent upon the expiry of his contract at Fulham.
The 29-year-old had been at the London club for five years and helped them return to the Premier League in 2022.

Tete has an awful injury record
Everton looked set to finally resolve their issues at full-back with Tete.
David Moyes has been using Jake O’Brien as a makeshift right-back despite the Irishman being a natural centre-half.

On top of this, Seamus Coleman is ageing and is only ever used as an emergency back-up, with Nathan Patterson also facing several injuries.
Therefore, a full-back was needed this summer, but Everton may want to think twice about Tete.
The Dutchman’s injury record is appalling, and he is often seen on the sidelines more than on the pitch.
Since he moved to Fulham back in 2020, Tete has had nine injuries or illnesses that have ruled him out of action, which have seen him miss 60 matches overall.

Last season alone, Tete was ruled out of 19 matches due to a knee injury and therefore missed half of the campaign.
Despite the full-back being a free transfer, Moyes may have to think again and cancel the signing.
It would be a complete waste of time to sign Tete as his injury issues are only going to worsen as he heads into the twilight of his career.

Everton must look long-term when signing players
Everton are in a unique position this summer.
With the Toffees set to move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, players are likely to be more interested in a move to Merseyside, under the bright lights.
Moyes simply has to take advantage of this and cannot be signing players on a short-term basis.
This summer is a real chance for Everton to start building a new project that will eventually see them return to Europe.
Hopefully, as the window goes on, more exciting additions will move to the Toffees, ready for the upcoming campaign, but Tete may not tick that box.
