The Premier League fixtures are out and it doesn’t look good for Man Utd, according to AI.
It feels like the 2024/25 season has only just finished and yet preparations for 2025/26 are well underway with Manchester United already up against it.
The squad rebuild has yet to fully kick into gear, however, there is still plenty of time for Ruben Amorim to get the players that he needs. Given United’s start to the season though, the earlier they arrive, the better, so that he has more time to work with them. So far only Matheus Cunha has been confirmed.
Arsenal on the opening day at Old Trafford is as tough as they come and Grok AI has predicted that the Amorim revolution might not go as smoothly to plan as was first hoped. Key fixtures against Liverpool and Man City could also be interesting.
Predicted Premier League table for 2025/26 according to Grok AI
1. Liverpool
Liverpool strolled to the title last season despite only making one new signing who hardly played, but they are setting the early pace this summer and are still to add a striker who will score more than the seven goals Darwin Nunez managed.
2. Arsenal
Second, again, for Arsenal, who will be looking to go closer if they add a consistent goalscorer or two rather than playing square pegs in round holes.
3. Man City
Another poor season by recent standards for Man City who continue to rebuild after the loss of key players like Kevin de Bruyne. Is Pep’s time in Manchester coming to an end?
4. Chelsea
It took a while for Enzo Maresca to work out his best XI out of a squad of around 45 players, but he got their eventually and now has a more balanced striker leading the line too in Liam Delap. There summer of fine tuning sees them finish fourth and closer to the top.
5. Newcastle
Despite having to cope with European football again, Eddie Howe manages to guide his team into fifth place and continues to impress with Newcastle United.
6. Aston Villa
Aston Villa just can’t quite break into and stay in the Champions League places with PSR hitting them hard this summer and restricing how much they can spend. Despite the demands of playing in Europe.
7. Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest just hold on to the coat tails of the top teams and cement their place as a top-half Premier League side.
8. Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace ride the wave of momentum from winning the FA Cup and go to the well every week using a squad that looked like it would struggle with the extra European fixtures.
9. Brentford
Despite losing Thomas Frank and Bryan Mbeumo, Brentford do what Brentford do and plod along quite nicely in mid-table, not threatening the European places, but also never in danger of relegation.
10. Everton
New stadium, same old Everton. A squad rebuild following a summer exodus leaves David Moyes to do what he does best, survive.
11. Man Utd
The sort of finish that probably sees Manchester United end the season with another different manager. The poor form of last season added to a questionable rebuild and a difficult opening run of fixtures and AI isn’t convinced that a corner will be turned.
12. Tottenham Hotspur
As with United, Tottenham Hotspur are also in a state of flux, however, they will have a new manager at the start of the season in Frank, who will be considerably more pragmatic than Ange Postecoglu.
13. Bournemouth
Dropping slightly, Bournemouth see their best players cherry picked (sorry) and as a result, struggle to replicate last season’s stellar form.
14. Fulham
Goals were a problem for Fulham last season and AI has no real confidence that Marco Silva fixes the issue during the summer.
15. Brighton
Brighton & Hove Albion gradually start to drop down the table as their year on year need to replace players starts to catch up with them. The demands of having to strike it lucky more often than not isn’t sustainable according to AI.
16. West Ham United
If West Ham United finish this low down again it will be interesting to see if they keep faith with Graham Potter or if they hit the panic button once again.
17. Leeds Utd
Despite heavy investment from the 49ers Enterprises group, Leeds United only just manage to stay up.
18. Wolverhampton Wanderers
As with Brighton, Wolves struggle after losing key players and are unable to replace those who were so important to their safety in recent seasons.
19. Burnley
Burnley didn’t score many goals when they got promoted last season and the pressure on the defence is too much to keep Scott Parker’s side up.
20. Sunderland
Probably promoted too early with a young squad, Sunderland, minus Jobe Bellingham don’t surprise anyone by finishing last and by going straight back down. Much to the delight of Newcastle fans everywhere.
