Report: Liverpool told how much they will have to pay to sign Marc Guehi

Liverpool have been one of the most active clubs in this summer’s transfer window as they look to strengthen their squad while the sun is shining.

After winning the Premier League in dominant fashion last season, the Reds have wasted no time in the market, already spending around £142 million.

The Reds have signed Florian Wirtz on a British record deal from Bayer Leverkusen, also bringing in his teammate Jeremie Frimpong.

Liverpool are also close to signing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, and they are also linked with Marc Guehi, as they look to sign a replacement for Jarell Quansah, who is set to join Leverkusen.

Liverpool find out how much Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi will cost

While Arne Slot’s side reportedly wants to sign Guehi, they may not be willing to spend a big fee on him, given that he is available on a free transfer next summer.

TBR Football have reported that Steve Parish will not sell Guehi on a cut-price deal, even if it means that he loses the player on a free next summer.

And talkSPORT has now revealed how much Crystal Palace will be asking for to sell their star defender.

As per the report, Palace want a fee in excess of £50m for the England defender. They also claim that the player has no intention to sign a new contract with the club.

Ibrahima Konate could impact Marc Guehi’s move to Liverpool

While Liverpool successfully extended Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah’s contracts earlier this year, they have struggled to convince Ibrahima Konate to sign.

TBR Football has claimed that Konate is demanding big money from Liverpool in order to sign a new deal.

It is reported that he has asked for a salary close to what the club offered Trent Alexander-Arnold; however, there are suggestions that the demand is a strategy to stall contract talks amid Real Madrid’s interest in signing Konate.

If Konate does not come to an agreement with the club over a new contract, it is possible that Liverpool will look to sell him this summer in order to avoid another Trent-like situation.

And if Liverpool lose Konate as well, signing a new centre-back will become a top priority and they could end up paying what Palace are asking for to sign Guehi.
