Napoli have been targeting Jadon Sancho for a number of weeks now as they prepare for the 2025-26 season.
This follows the winger’s loan spell in the second half of the 2024-25 season at Chelsea – which came as a result of Sancho falling out of favour at Old Trafford.
During this loan spell, the former Dortmund player was able to score on 3 occasions. This led to the possibility of Chelsea signing the winger permanently emerging.
However, this loan spell ended with Chelsea sending the Englishman back for a £5 million fee. This came as a result of Chelsea and Sancho not being able to come to an agreement over personal terms.
Following the return of Sancho to Old Trafford, two options became apparent to the winger. He could either stay at the club or could leave in favour of joining another club.
After deciding to pursue a move away from Old Trafford, many clubs became interested in the winger including Napoli.
Most recently, it has looked like if Sancho is to move away from old Trafford, there will only be one location with the 25 year old heads to and that is Napoli.
However, now, Napoli’s sporting director has stated the Italian side’s position on the deal. Speaking on the matter, Giovanni Manna said:
“Our offer is clear, we will not pay Sancho’s requested salary.”
This comes after speculation around the wage that the Naples side would offer Sancho for joining them this summer.
This could affect the possibility of the Englishman joining Napoli this summer.
With this being revealed, it leaves Sancho with a choice. Does he want to leave Old Trafford and accept a wage cut at Napoli or would he rather pursue a different club to join this summer?
