Game 7 of the NBA Finals is set to tip off later tonight, but the Phoenix Suns are dominating headlines across the NBA instead, thanks to the Kevin Durant trade. The NBA’s latest blockbuster may have opened up more questions than answers in Phoenix, largely due to the trade return.
Now the Suns have a funky-looking roster, stacked with star shooting guards. With Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Jalen Green, what’s next for the Suns?
Despite previous reports indicating they were gauging his value, the Suns won’t be looking to trade Green again. Yet, it could be a different story when it comes to Beal.
According to The Athletic, now the Suns are expected to try to trade Beal next. However, the Suns have been trying to find a new home for Beal for roughly a year now.
Being owed roughly $111 million over the next two years complicates a Beal deal. The same can be said about his full no-trade clause, though he could be more willing to move on now that he knows Green will likely get more opportunities than him.
For now, the Suns are moving forward with Booker and Green, even if it’s an imperfect fit.
