Dušan Vlahović has long been a name linked with a Premier League move. For the past two summers, the Serbian striker has featured on the radar of several top English clubs. Now, with Juventus reportedly open to letting him go for just over £20 million, interest from England has reignited. Manchester United and Nottingham Forest are among the clubs identified as potential suitors.
However, despite early conversations, Vlahović appears to have different plans. According to TBR Football, the 25-year-old has been offered to a number of Premier League sides, including United. Yet, journalist Graeme Bailey reports that Vlahović’s current preference is not a move to England, but a switch to AC Milan. While intermediaries continue to float his name around the market, no formal proposals from English clubs have materialised so far.

Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus was linked with a move to Manchester United.
Although Manchester United remain in the market for a striker under Rúben Amorim’s leadership, the Dušan Vlahović situation raises doubts. His strong preference for a move to AC Milan and reluctance to accept a pay cut in Serie A complicate any potential deal with the Premier League side.
“There is interest in England in Vlahovic, but I can confirm no offers are on the table in the Premier League for him, as yet,” Bailey exclusively told TBR.
“There was a suspicion amongst the clubs that he was waiting for other interest, and now something has come up at Milan with Allegri’s move to the club. I am told that, as it stands, they are firm favourites for Vlahovic, but that could change.
“If that does happen, then we could see Premier League interest materialise, but at this point it has not.”
If Vlahović is truly available for just over £20 million, Manchester United would be remiss not to seriously evaluate the opportunity. The current market lacks strikers with his blend of power, youth, and top-flight experience.
His preference for AC Milan shouldn’t immediately deter United. Football history is filled with moves where a player’s initial inclination didn’t dictate the final outcome. What matters most is the sporting project on offer and the club’s ability to sell its vision. In that regard, Rúben Amorim could play a pivotal role in persuadingthe Serbian that Old Trafford is the right place to reignite his career.

When it comes to Vlahović’s scoring potential, it’s true that his most recent campaign in Turin wasn’t his finest, but even then, his goal return remains respectable. At 25, he still has time on his side, and if he can adapt to Rúben Amorim’s system, he may be exactly what United’s faltering front line needs. Last season, the lack of cutting edge in attack was glaring.
Vlahović, when deployed with clarity and consistency, could offer genuine solutions. But this hinges on Manchester United’s resolve to truly pursue him, not as a fallback option, but as a strategic investment. Is he better than other forwards currently being considered? Arguably, yes. Yet, this signing cannot be made out of mere convenience. The club desperately needs goals, but even more, it needs a player who believes in the project and is ready to give everything. Mutual commitment must be the foundation. .
Meanwhile, United are also preparing to offer a one-year extension to a veteran star.
