Watch: Lewandowski gets back to work training ahead of pre-season

Robert Lewandowski may be set to celebrate his 37th birthday shortly but he’s certainly showing few signs of slowing down or losing his appetite for the game.

The Barcelona striker has been enjoying some time off after the end of the 2024-25 season and took a break from international duty, citing mental and physical fatigue.

Yet Lewandowski already appears to be ready to roll again. The veteran forward has posted an update on Instagram showing he’s already working out ahead of pre-season.

Barcelona’s players actually have another couple of weeks to rest and relax before they are due back to work on July 13 for medical checks. A pre-season tour of Asia will then follow for Hansi Flick’s double winners.

Meanwhile, Lewandowski is being tipped to see less game time next season if Nico Williams arrives from Athletic Club. It’s been rumored that Flick will switch up his tactics and potentially use Dani Olmo more as a false nine alongside Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Williams.
