Kam Jones is the undisputed star of Marquette Golden Eagles last season, having the ability to score in many ways and create good plays at will. It will be different in the big league and so, an anonymous coach has an advise to him.

“I’m concerned about his overall shooting,” one anonymous coach said as quoted by The Athletic.
“I think he’ll be an off-the-bench guy, and his ceiling, if his shooting can come around, could be better than that. He’s not very big. He has to get stronger just to compete against the size that exists in that league.”
While the size is a knock on Jones, the anonymous coach believes he can be a good point guard, huge thanks to the improvement he made as the Eagles main point guard in 2024.
“He’s transitioning into being a true point guard,” he said.
“His passing really improved this past year.”

Jones is 6’5 and weighs 200 pounds. He finished the 2024-2025 season averaging 17.2 points, 2.4 assists, 2.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game.
Kam Jones draft prediction
Major draft boards from months ago has Jones getting picked late in the first round. It was predicted that could land with the Los Angeles Clippers as a no. 30 selection.
It is much different this time.
The consensus among mock drafts writers is that he will get picked in the second round with #33 being the earliest. Most of them has him getting selected around 40 and beyond.
Kevin O’Connor of Yahoo! Sports thinks it is his lack of athleticism that makes him less appealing. The writer said Jones will land with the Sacramento Kings at #42.

Jones offers crafty combo guard skills with advanced shot creation and a blossoming playmaking feel. But his so-so athleticism and streaky shooting paint him as just a cog rather than the rare star upperclassmen set to enter the league.
ESPN and Sports Illustrated have jones at no. 46.
