Pacers Make Tyrese Haliburton Injury Announcement During Game 7 vs. Thunder

The 2024-25 NBA season comes to a close on Sunday night as the Oklahoma City Thunder and Indiana Pacers are currently facing off in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

It has been a tightly contested matchup thus far as the Thunder currently hold a 34-32 advantage with a little over seven minutes remaining in the second quarter.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has led the way for the Thunder with 12 points, two rebounds and four assists while Alex Caruso has added eight points of his own in nine minutes off the bench.

For the Pacers, Pascal Siakam has led the way with eight points while Bennedict Mathurin has five points and three rebounds off the bench.

Tyrese Haliburton also came up huge in the first quarter of Sunday game as he scored nine points while knocking down three three-pointers but disaster struck late in the first quarter.

With a little less than five minutes remaining in the first quarter, Haliburton collapsed to the court and was in a ton of pain after attempting to drive to the rim.

On the replay, it showed Haliburton losing his balance after his right leg seemed to pop as he collapsed to the ground.

The star point guard was then carried off the court as he was unable to put any pressure on his right leg.

In the second quarter, the Pacers announced that Haliburton will not return to Game 7 due to a lower right leg injury.

Of course, Haliburton suffered a right calf strain in Game 5 of the NBA Finals but he was able to return to that game and then play through it in Game 6 and 7.

Unfortunately, Haliburton’s calf injury likely led to his injury in Sunday’s game, which is a massive blow for the Pacers not only due to their chance to win the championship in Game 7 on Sunday, but if it is a significant injury, he could miss part or all of next season.
