Rayan Ait-Nouri did well in his first Manchester City start

Manchester City cruised into the knockout round of the Club World Cup with a 6-0 win over Al Ain. The Blues will face Juventus on Thursday to see who tops the group but will head in with confidence after a big win.

Ilkay Gundogan got City under way early on and Claudio Echeverri added the second from a free-kick, with poor defending for both. Erling Haaland added the third from the spot on the stroke of half-time and Gundogan added a fourth before substitutes Oscar Bobb and Rayan Cherki got in on the act.

Ruben Dias came on for his first minutes of the tournament and Phil Foden missed a late chance to make it seven in what ended up a comprehensive win. Here are the player ratings from the Manchester Evening News.

**Ortega:** Made a good save in the first half from an early Al Ain break and was alert to all danger. **7**

**Khusanov:** Didn't really stand out, which can be a good thing for central defenders but probably doesn't move the needle for him. **6**

**Akanji:** Solid enough at the back and won the penalty for the third goal even if it looked a bit soft. **7**

**Gvardiol:** Looks a lock for a starting place every week of the season, strong in the air and with an eye for starting moves. **7**

**Ait-Nouri:** Probably the pick of the bunch, bounding forward up that left flank and jinking inside whenever he could to take on the defence. **8**

**Gonzalez:** Had a hairy Leyton Orient-style moment in the first half but brushed it off. Still feels like No.6 isn't his best position. **6**

**Silva:** Supplied the corner for Gundogan's goal, and did well to set up his second and City's fourth. Questions remain over that right wing spot though. **7**

**Gundogan:** A nice goal to open the scoring - whether he meant it or not! Some neat play afterwards and picked up a second goal. **8**

**Nunes:** Saw plenty of the ball and produced more good than bad, going close to a great goal in the second half. **7**

**Echeverri:** Scored from a direct free-kick and was always intent on getting into dangerous positions with the ball. **7**

**Haaland:** Scored one penalty and some bright movements, although should have had more from open play. **6**

**Foden (for Echeverri, 46)** Quieter than the first game, even if the game was already won when he came on. **6**

**Rodri (for Gonzalez, 61)** More signs of rustiness but a nice assist for Bobb. **7**

**Bobb (for Khusanov, 61)** A good goal well taken. **7**

**Cherki (for Silva, 74)** Signs of looking a bit more comfortable in the team and opened his account. **7**

**Dias (for Gvardiol, 74)** His first minutes in the tournament. **6**

**Not used:** Ederson, Bettinelli, Stones, Ake, Reis, O'Reilly, Reijnders, Doku, Savinho, Marmoush
