All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea as they bid to stay in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Chelsea are now preparing for their final FIFA Club World Cup group stage game after a surprise defeat to Flamengo on Friday. The Blues will go into Tuesday night’s game needing a result if they want to progress through to the knockout stage.

In the meantime, Chelsea’s recruitment staff will be continuing their efforts to land new signings this summer, and it’s likely we will see incomings aplenty at Stamford Bridge. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the West London club.

Muani rejection

Chelsea are said to have enquired about Juventus striker Randal Kolo Muani as they look to add another frontman after the signing of Liam Delap. But it has now been reported that Muani has indicated that Muani wants to stay in Italy for next season.

Graeme Bailey told TBR Football: “Kolo Muani wants to stay in Italy – that is the word coming from his people at this point, even with the approach from Chelsea and interest from elsewhere. I am told he knows Dusan Vlahovic is going, so he is likely to be the main man in Turin and that appeals to him.”

Jackson not for sale

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has been linked with a move away from the club, with fresh links from Italy emerging over the weekend, but Sky Sports report Kaveh Solhekol believes the frontman is not for sale. He posted on X: “Chelsea are planning to have at least two frontline strikers in their squad next season which means Nicolas Jackson is not for sale at the moment. Jackson has been the subject of interest from three Premier League clubs as well clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia this summer.

“Clubs in Italy are interested in Jackson but they may not be able to afford the transfer fee and wages which would lead to any potential sale. Last summer he signed a two-year contract extension which ties him to Chelsea until 2033. Chelsea have already signed Liam Delap this summer and may well sign another striker.”

Palmer criticism

Cole Palmer has been criticised by two pundits amid his performances in the FIFA Club World Cup. Tony Cascarino said on TalkSport: “One strange one is Cole Palmer because he was fabulous, not last season but the season before. I think he’s had a difficult year. I thought his form’s dropped off a cliff this year, so I’m a bit surprised there.”

Meanwhile, former Chelsea star John Obi Mikel also said something similar after watching Palmer int he US. “It is a bit worrying,” he told DAZN. “Cole is a fantastic player, everything goes through him but sometimes he disappears in games where you don’t see him and that has happened again, but he needs to know that he is now a marked man.

“You will play against teams and they will know if you take out Cole Palmer, you can nullify the way they play. So he needs to find a different way. Maybe the manager needs to help him in terms of navigating games and opponents. Maybe try to free him, give him more space. If he plays well, we play well, so I hope the combination between him and [Liam] Delap will get better. So [I am] a little bit worried but Cole is a fantastic player and will hopefully continue to develop.”
