The Oklahoma City Thunder are your NBA Champions for 2024-25. Oklahoma City battled the Indiana Pacers through seven games of the 2025 [NBA Finals](https://www.sbnation.com/nba-finals) before emerging victorious with a 103-91 victory on Sunday night.
Game 7 was marred by an injury to Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton who left the game with 4:55 remaining in the first quarter, having scored 9 points on 3-4 shooting beyond the three-point arc. He would not return to the game. His father later confirmed that Haliburton had suffered an Achilles injury.
2025 NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 29 points on 8-27 shooting in the victory, He would be named Finals MVP. Jalen Williams added 20 for the Thunder, shooting 7-20 from the field.
This is the first championship for Oklahoma City. The franchise won a title in 1979 as the Seattle SuperSonics but reset their identity in 2008 when they moved to the Midwest.
