West Ham’s transfer window can crawl into life this week

Hammers fans have been pretty morose, with due reason, in recent weeks seeing other clubs around them get their deals done early. The Irons lost out early doors on reported targets such as Liverpool’s [Caoimhin Kelleher.](https://www.claretandhugh.info/kellehers-complicated-future-at-anfield-suits-west-ham-to-a-tee/) News this weekend of Brazilian striker Igor Jesus heading to Nottingham Forest further dampening the mood amongst West Ham supporters who are starved of good news.

The fuss made in the winter over a _loan deal_ for Evan Ferguson – even though it was to no avail – shows how desperate we are as Hammers fans are  just for some good news.

It does seem as though the transfer window might actually crawl into life for the Hammers this week. Hardly a celebration, but it shows how low our sights are when the prospective sales of Nayef Aguerd and Mohammed Kudus are seen as ‘good things’ .

However if they move the side towards bringing in a crop of young, committed footballers who will enhance the squad and play for the shirt then that might be construed as a ‘positive’. Time, perhaps, to reset the optimism and look forward to some action this week then.

Players such as Leicester’s young ‘keeper Mads Hermansen, Raphael Onyedika and Adama Bojang remain ‘on the radar’ and as yet, available despite the _constant reported presence_ of predatory sides such Everton, Bournemouth, Wolves – the ‘usual suspects’. So- perhaps- good news might be just around the corner. After all, what could possibly go wrong?
