Leeds United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Lecce star Nikola Krstovic.
Daniel Farke is looking for attacking reinforcements, with doubts over Joel Piroe’s ability to perform in the Premier League.
Mateo Joseph is not the answer and could be allowed to leave with the likes of Birmingham, Strasbourg and Real Betis interested in his services.
Meanwhile, questions remain over Patrick Bamford after he played just 17 times in the Championship last season and failed to score.
This is where Krstovic comes into play.

Leeds can secure Krstovic deal amid Italian drama
Krstovic is also attracting attention from the likes of Roma and AC Milan but the Elland Road outfit may have an advantage.

Corriere Dello Sport has reported in its print edition (23 June, page 23) that the striker wants to remain in Italy, but the demands from Lecce are too high for other Serie A clubs.
It states that Leeds are not giving up and there are “really intense” days ahead in the battle for his signature, and they are willing to get close to his £25.6million asking price after an offer was made at the start of June.

Farke needs several attackers for Leeds to stay up
Staying up will be a tough task for Farke to achieve as the gap between the Premier League and the second tier is at an all-time high.
If the 49ers can secure the signings of several attackers, it would help massively, as they need to score goals to have any chance.

Krstovic’s stats last season.
Krstovic is a proven goalscorer in an elite league, notching 11 goals and five assists in 37 Serie A matches last season, which could help Farke tremendously if he can translate that form to English football.
The Whites seem to have a significant interest in the Italian market, with centre back Jaka Bijol on the verge of completing a move to LS11 from Udinese, and it could pay off for them once again, if they can secure a deal for the Montenegrin striker.
If the 25-year-old signs, they would still need further reinforcements in attack, with Fulham star Rodrigo Muniz reportedly on their radar as well, but it would be a solid start to the window.
