Bayern Munich are in search of a new winger in the summer window, and they have been linked with a host of players already.
While Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams remains a dream target for the club, it appears Bayern are keeping tabs on other options as well.
Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo has been heavily linked with a move this summer, but Bayern should make a serious attempt to sign his Reds teammate instead.

We exclusively reported that Gakpo is not the only player Bayern wants; the German champions have also turned their gaze to Colombian winger Luis Diaz.
Liverpool shattered their own transfer record (and potentially British transfer record) by signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen.
The Reds could be ready to offload some of their forward players (Harvey Elliott is almost certain to leave) to balance the books, and they may be tempted to do business for either Gakpo or Diaz, if the offer is right.
Diaz rediscovered his form last season under Arne Slot. He scored 17 goals and registered five assists across all competitions.
Earlier this month, he scored a “sensational” solo goal for Colombia against Argentina. Capable of playing across all positions upfront, Diaz brings something extra to the side with his silky skills (1.5 dribbles per game) and tremendous defensive shifts.
Diaz has been linked with a move to Barcelona, but it’s unclear whether the Catalan giants have the financial power to match Liverpool’s asking price.
He would be an ideal replacement for Leroy Sane, who has joined Galatasaray.
Bayern Munich must look for realistic targets
Nico Williams will be a terrific signing for Bayern, but at the moment, it appears to be extremely challenging for them to complete the deal.
The 22-year-old wants to join Barcelona, and the only way the German giants can sign him is if the La Liga club fail to reach an agreement.
Bradley Barcola is another target for Bayern, but Paris Saint-Germain are refusing to sell him.
In such a scenario, Bayern should look at players who are realistic targets.
Diaz is a proven champion. He not only possesses tremendous quality, but his wealth of experience could be invaluable for Bayern.
At 28, he is playing at the peak of his form, and Bayern can expect to get at least a few quality years from him. The club must make a concrete effort to sign Diaz.
