Everton raised around £70m in player sales during the 2023 summer transfer window.
At that time, Everton were still battling with PSR issues and had to trade in the market to avoid any further breaches.
Alex Iwobi was a notable departure as he completed a £22m transfer to Fulham, whilst Demarai Gray, Tom Cannon, Ellis Simms, and Niels Nkounkou almost moved on.
But, the biggest sale that window was a talented striker who has since established himself as one of the best in Europe.
Now, Manchester United are stepping up their interest in him.

Manchester United step up interest in former Everton striker Moise Kean
Sean Dyche sanctioned Moise Kean’s sale two summers ago, and since then, he’s really started to fulfil his promise.
Kean now plies his trade at Fiorentina and was the second top scorer in Serie A last term, netting 19 goals in 32 appearances.
That’s alerted a number of clubs across the continent and in the Premier League, with Arsenal in contact to sign Kean.

Now, according to Gazzetta, Manchester United are stepping up their interest in the Everton flop, who has a £44m release clause in his contract.
It’s understood Ruben Amorim and his chiefs scouted Kean last season as they look to sign another forward to support the struggling Rasmus Hojlund.
How Kean feels about a move to Man United
The former Everton man is relaxed about his future as he feels there is no immediate rush to jump at United’s potential forthcoming offer.
The 25-year-old is aware of other clubs’ interest and so he will wait for their proposals before making a decision.
Kean has not ruled out staying at Fiorentina as he feels greatly valued by manager Stefano Pioli and the supporters.
From an Everton perspective, it certainly does feel like one that got away, as the club are still in the market for a prolific centre-forward.
The Toffees are eyeing Villarreal’s Thierno Barry at the moment, but some fans aren’t convinced about the possible signing.
