Bournemouth multi club model expands once more

AFC Bournemouth have announced that owners Black Knight Football Club have added another club to the group, this time with the addition of a club from Portugal.

Moreirense Futebol Clube have had a minority stake purchased by the Cherries parent company, who already boast French Ligue 1 club Lorient and Scottish Premiership outfit Hibernian amongst their ranks, whilst Bill Foley, a majority shareholder in AFC Bournemouth, also owns New Zealand franchise Auckland, who play in the Australia A-League.

Further more “strategic affiliation agreements” have also been announced with Orlando City SC from the United States of America’s Major League Soccer and Japanese club Kyoto Sanga.

American businessman and AFC Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has never been quiet in his desire to build a multi-club model with the Cherries at the top of that pyramid.

So far, this has seen Dango Ouattara and Eli Junior Kroupi make the move from Lorient to AFC Bournemouth and Alex Paulsen link up with Auckland.

Hibernian have also benefited from several deals in the transfer market and have seen backroom staff move from the south coast to strengthen the Scottish sides transfer policies.

I wonder how they rank this lot v Lorient in their hierarchy. Or if they’re seen on a level but different tracks? Portugal is a great pathway for Brazilian footballers to come to Europe. – [To join the conversation, please click here.](https://bournemouth-forum.vitalfootball.co.uk/threads/moreirense.19829/page-2)
