As Madden was starting to cater to more casual fans of American Football, making a game that newcomers could enjoy, Sega Sports decided to head in the complete opposite direction, creating something immensely in depth with a ton of options. This pleased enthusiasts, but meant I had no idea what I was doing as you really need to understand the playbooks to do well at this.

It does have a pleasing interface and a lot of modes, but that’s about all I can say for this one. Sega ditched the GameCube with the following to NFL 2K games until the games grinded to a halt due to EA getting an exclusive NFL deal.
