Exclusive: What Jadon Sancho has now told Manchester United as club struggles to offload him

TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Jadon Sancho has made his future plans clear to Manchester United as the club continues to try and offload him.

Sancho spent the last season on loan at Chelsea after falling out with Erik ten Hag during the 2023/24 season. The loan deal had an obligation to buy him clause at the end of the loan spell for a fee of £25m.

If they decide against signing him, Chelsea will have to pay Man United £5m as penalty.

TBR Football has previously reported that Chelsea will only sign him on a permanent deal if Sancho agrees to reduced wages.

Jadon Sancho tells Manchester United to cover his wages

TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey has now claimed that Manchester United and Jadon Sancho are in a stand-off over his future.

The Red Devils have informed the player that he is not part of the plans at the club and is in the same boat as Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford.

However, Sancho has told Man United that for him to move on a permanent deal, or even on loan, the club will have to cover his wages.

Manchester United are not willing to subsidise a deal as they feel they are already taking a significant enough hit given they are willing to let him go for less than £30m.

His current wages, which TBR Football has previously confirmed is more than £300,000-a-week, is making it hard United to offload him despite interest from several clubs.

Borussia Dortmund have already confirmed they would take Sancho back, but they cannot afford his wages.

Napoli are also keen on signing him and have held talks, but they too have informed him that they would not be able to meet his wages.

Premier League rivals Aston Villa are also interested but face the same issue.

United believe that the reduced fee, which would see them take a hit of more than £30m having signed him for £73m in 2021, should be enough for someone to take him on a permanent deal – but as it stands that is not the case.

Should Sancho remain at Old Trafford by the time pre-season starts, he would not be part of Ruben Amorin’s first-team set-up.

Manchester United expected to undergo a squad overhaul

United have already signed Matheus Cunha, and are linked with a move for Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

However, they are going to have to offload several players in order to make more signings.

Several big names are expected to leave this summer. Marcus Rashford is linked with a United exit, with the Aston Villa keen on signing him. However, Rashford is reportedly waiting for Barcelona to make a move.

United are also expected to sell Andre Onana this summer, with French side Monaco keen on signing him.

Amorim has also asked Garnacho to find a new club, after a public fall out at the end of the season.

It is expected to be a busy summer for United, but a lot of their transfers may depend on their outgoings.
