This summer is shaping up to be a big one for Leeds United. The transfer window was off to a slow start, but a flurry of activity last week has raised interest among the fans.
Leeds announced the signing of Lukas Nmecha on an initial two-year deal. The German forward will join as a free agent from Wolfsburg. He comes with experience and quality to bolster the club’s current attack.

Nmecha’s arrival also brings competition to the team. The forward said that he is here to make an impact at Elland Road.
And looking at how last season went, it is very likely that the player who loses out is Mateo Joseph. The Spaniard barely featured during the run in. Joseph is also attracting interest from multiple European clubs.
According to Diario De Sevilla, Real Betis have submitted a £6.9million bid for the forward. The report claims that the 21-year old is keen on an exit from Elland Road. However, Leeds are only looking for a fee above £8.5million. Strasbourg are also interested, but have yet to make an approach for the forward.
Joseph could make way with new arrival
Last season, the 21-year old was the only player in the squad to have the least number of starts among those who had played more than a 1,000 minutes in the league.

Even when Joel Piroe was out of form and misfiring, Daniel Farke persisted with Piroe. And now that another striker could be brought in after Nmecha, the future is not looking bright for Mateo Joseph.
