Marcus Rashford has continued to document the efforts he is making to relaunch his career after falling out of favour at Manchester United.

Indeed the 27-year-old seems almost certain to leave Old Trafford this summer, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Rashford played well at times for Unai Emery’s team but did not really do enough to convince the Spaniard to trigger the £40million purchase option.

Indeed ever since the campaign finished, with four goals in 17 games for the Villans, the narrative has been that the forward preferred a transfer to Barcelona.

To that end most of his social media activity in the last couple of months has been pictures of him working hard in the gym and on the pitch – and this latest offering is no different.

On his official Instagram account, Rashford is pictured doing both in Marbella, with the caption ‘Putting in the work with family and friends before the serious stuff starts back up.’

The ‘serious stuff’ is not likely to take place at Villa Park but The forward recently opened up about his ambitions in an interview with Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz which was shared by BBC Sport.

Asked if he would like to be team-mates with Barca’s 17-year-old scoring sensation Yamal, Rashford said: “Yes, for sure. Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully… we’ll see.”

Barcelona sporting director Deco in May told Catalan radio station RAC1 that the club “like” Rashford. Rashford added: “It’s difficult to put into words what (Yamal) is doing because he’s not supposed to be doing that at 16 or 17. I don’t think we’ve seen that before.”
