'I just want...': Sasa Kalajdzic outlines Wolves ambition amid uncertain future

Sasa Kalajdzic has spoken on his Wolves future after a turbulent few years at Molineux.

It’s fair to say that the Austrian’s Molineux move hasn’t gone as well as first planned.

Kalajdzic has been plagued by injuries since his 2022 move from VfB Stuttgart, something which has seen the striker only make 14 appearances in three years.

Now at a crossroads in his Wolves career, Kalajdzic has seemingly made his ambitions clear this summer.

Sasa Kalajdzic speaks on Wolves future

Having suffered another serious knee injury back in February 2024, Kalajdzic only recently returned to training last month.

The 27-year-old is yet to feature for Vitor Pereira’s side upon his return, and it is now expected that Kalajdzic will go out on loan this summer – something which the Austrian seems to be keen on.

“As things stand, I will start pre-season with the Wolves, but a loan is also an option if it suits all parties. I just want to be back on the pitch and playing,” the striker told Kicker.

In terms of where Kalajdzic could end up this summer, it seems he has his heart set on a return to the Bundesliga.

“I know the Bundesliga, and the Bundesliga knows me,” Kalajdzic said.

“So it would be a good fit. And I would never close any doors – but that applies in general, not just to VfB. I just want to be back on the pitch and playing! Spain, Germany, or Italy would be options for me, but I’m not ruling out staying in Wolverhampton.“

Kalajdzic loan would be perfect for Wolves

Kalajdzic recently admitted he’s ‘happy’ at Wolves, but it seems like a loan exit would be best for both parties this summer.

Given his recent injury, it would be a difficult task for Wolves to sell the Austrian this summer.

A successful loan, however, could rebuild Kalajdzic’s value and help Wolves recoup some of the £15 million they paid for the striker back in 2022.

If Kalajdzic can avoid injury, next summer could be the perfect time for Wolves to cash in.
