Sporting director contacts Everton forward – Loan with option to buy

According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce are again showing interest in Everton forward Beto.

The Portuguese forward was linked with a move to the Istanbul side last summer, but remained with the Premier League club when the costs involved became clear to the Turkish side.

Sporx report on Beto and state Fenerbahce sport director Devin Ozek has contacted the player’s camp.

Fener are in the market for a new No.9 this summer with Edin Džeko’s contract expiring at the end of the month. Cenk Tosun and Youssef En-Nesyri could also leave in this transfer window.

It’s claimed Fenerbahce want to loan the Everton player, with an option to purchase the 27-year-old.

However, it’s unlikely Everton will sell Beto in this transfer window, especially on an initial loan basis, after he showed some decent form in the second half of last season under David Moyes.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin set to leave when his contract expires at the end of the month, Moyes will not want to lose the Portuguese attacker.

Beto made 34 appearances for the Toffees last season, scoring ten goals. He’s contracted to the Merseyside club until June 2027.
