Milos Kerkez will arrive on Merseyside to complete his Liverpool medical today (Monday) as opposed to Tuesday that was reported last week.
It marks a busy period for some of the staff at the club, who will have to now prepare a presentation for the Hungarian so soon after the official announcement of Florian Wirtz this past Friday.
The club has agreed a deal in the region of £40 million deal to sign the Bournemouth left-back.
Bournemouth have already secured Kerkez’s replacement, completing a €17 million deal for Rennes left-back Adrien Truffert.
The 21-year-old Hungarian international is set to complete his medical today and sign a five-year contract at Anfield.
His fee makes him the most expensive full-back in Liverpool’s history, behind only Virgil van Dijk in the club’s defender spending hierarchy.
The agreement includes performance-related add-ons that could elevate the total package beyond the initial £40 million outlay.
David Ornstein has reported the news, writing for the Athletic:
“Milos Kerkez is flying into the United Kingdom today to complete a medical ahead of his move to Liverpool from Bournemouth.”
“The 21-year-old is heading back from Belgrade, Serbia, with the move expected to be announced on Tuesday.”
Kerkez, who began his senior career at AZ Alkmaar and joined Bournemouth in July 2023 for roughly £15.5 million, offers both defensive solidity and attacking thrust from the left flank.
Having started all 38 Premier League matches for the Cherries in 2024-25, he delivered six goals and two assists while helping the club finish 13th in the table.
The fee being paid means that the south coast club are netting a tidy profit for the Hungarian international.
Meanwhile, the club are awaiting a decision from Andy Robertson on whether the Scot will greenlight a move to Atletico Madrid.
It is envisaged that Milos Kerkez will be the starting option for Slot, especially if the Anfield club are forking over £40 million + for his signature.
