Maryland basketball alum Aaron Wiggins won the NBA Championship with the Oklahoma City Thunder Sunday night. The Thunder took down the Indiana Pacers in Game 7, 103-91.
Wiggins is now just the fourth-ever Terp to win an NBA championship as a player, joining Tony Massenburg (San Antonio, 2005), Keith Booth (Chicago Bulls, 1998) and Adrian Branch (Los Angeles Lakers, 1987).
In 12 minutes of action Sunday, Wiggins posted a single rebound. In his fourth season with Oklahoma City, he averaged a career-high 12 points per game across 76 contests. His 18 points against the Pacers in Game 2 of the Finals marked the third-most points by a Terp in a championship series match.
