Nottingham Forest receive fresh offer for £6.5m player wanted by Jose Mourinho - journalist

Nottingham Forest will be active in the transfer market this summer, but it won’t just be to complete incoming pieces of business.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking for reinforcements for his squad, with Forest set to play in the UEFA Conference League next season.

Igor Jesus has signed for Forest from Botafogo, and he will likely be joined by more players before the new campaign gets underway.

In order for a big overhaul of the squad, some fringe players might be offloaded, with Jota Silva wanted by Fenerbahce, who have seen a bid rejected already.

Silva scored four goals in all competitions after arriving from Vitoria, but only started five times in the Premier League during his maiden campaign.

Now, it would appear that interest is rife in the player…

Nottingham Forest receive a new offer for Jota Silva

According to journalist Sebastien Vidal, Besiktas came forward with a loan-to-buy offer for Silva, but it was immediately rejected.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to land Silva, however, and it’s thought that another bid could be forthcoming with the Turkish outfit needing to up the ante.

Silva only started five Premier League games last season, and as a result, the 25-year-old could be tempted to move if regular football was forthcoming.

The versatile forward scored four goals for Forest in his maiden campaign and is under contract at the club until 2028.

Besiktas clearly looking at Forest for possible targets

Besiktas have also been linked with Ibrahim Sangare, and clearly, they’re looking at the Premier League for new recruits.

Silva is a pretty decent squad player, and he’d be more than good enough to feature in the UEFA Conference League next season for Forest.

However, there is a sense that the Reds might go for better options out wide, and that could lead to Silva falling further down the pecking order.

If Forest are really going to sign stellar players this summer, players will need to leave and it’s fair to say there are better options out there than Silva.
