Napoli interest, Aston Villa 'truth', Chelsea stance - Alejandro Garnacho Man United transfer…

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho

Ever since he broke into the Manchester United first team Alejandro Garnacho has never been far away from the headlines.

His talent is undeniable but he has crossed United managers too many times and that is why Ruben Amorim is prepared to part ways with the Argentina international this summer.

Sunday evening proved to be another one of those occasions as he posted a picture of himself on Instagram wearing an Aston Villa jersey with the name of fellow United exile Marcus Rashford on the back. The stunt has shown why Amorim is right to want to move the 20-year-old on this summer.

There should be plenty of potential suitors and United should be able to bank a healthy fee by selling him.

With that in mind, here is a look at the current state of play.

Aston Villa 'truth'

Many Villa fans jumped to the conclusion that Garnacho was hinting at a move to Villa Park, but there is probably little to read into it in terms of his future, short of him wearing the shirt of the team Rashford moved to on loan.

Villa are monitoring Garnacho, according to The Independent, but United's steep asking price could prove to be a sticking point.

If Morgan Rogers is reluctantly sold, amid interest from Arsenal and Chelsea, then Unai Emery's side could possibly make a move.

Napoli interest

The Italian champions were keen to sign Garnacho back in January but their £40m offer was not enough to tempt United into a sale.

With Napoli back in the Champions League next season and Antonio Conte clearly a fan of the youngster, another approach is not out of the question.

Chelsea stance

The Blues are also admirers of Garnacho and have long been interested in a move for the former Atletico Madrid youngster.

However, Jamie Gittens is their number one target and it seems as if Enzo Maresca's side are keen to push on with a move for the 20-year-old winger.

It remains to be seen whether they will pursue a move for Garnacho should they land Gittens, given they are already well stocked in that department.

Wildcard options

A return to Atletico Madrid has also been touted as a possible option. Bayer Leverkusen are also claimed to be monitoring Garnacho's situation.
