Everton fans will have mixed opinions on Amadou Onana since he left the club for Aston Villa.
The Belgian midfielder decided to jump ship last summer as a £50m move to Villa was cemented.
After just two seasons at Goodison Park, Onana’s exit certainly surprised a few, but the figure offered was just too good to turn down.
Onana forced a move to Villa, which didn’t go down too well with Evertonians, but there is no denying a player of his quality was always going to move on, with Everton struggling.
His quality is there for all to see, but the Belgian believes Everton don’t have to worry too much, as he sees one player going right to the very top.

Amadou Onana names the Everton star who will become ‘one of the best’
No doubt, the 23-year-old would still be welcomed back to Merseyside in the years to come because his presence in the midfield is unmatched.
But for now, he’s playing in Europe with Villa, as Everton will hope to emulate Onana’s side in years to come under David Moyes.
It’s clear they are looking to replace Onana who is the ‘steel in midfield’, but the Belgian himself thinks the Toffees will have ‘one of the best’ in the future to come.

Speaking to the Inside Scoop, the Villa star outlined that Jarrad Branthwaite will reach the very top, suggesting he’s got ‘everything’ in his game.
“I think he’s got everything it takes to become one of the best in the league,” Onana said.
“Good left foot, physically strong, he’s fast. He’s got everything to be at the top.”

Latest on Branthwaite’s Everton future as contract murmurs arise
Of course, Onana was one of Kevin Thelwell’s best signings and was certainly a success at Everton.
But the midfielder chose to leave, which is something Branthwaite has been mooted to do this summer.
However, there seems to be a clear difference between both players, as the centre-back is fully invested in The Friedkin Group’s project under Moyes, and he will have a big part in it after a successful tenure with Everton.

Despite Chelsea almost signing Branthwaite, it seems as though Everton’s £80m asking price isn’t feasible, and the future now looks bright for the 22-year-old.
This comes after Branthwaite’s contract talks with Everton are ‘progressing well’ as the defender is looking to continue his Everton journey.
Fans will hope Onana’s words come to fruition as Branthwaite can be the face of The Friedkins’ masterplan.
