TBR Football can exclusively reveal that Bayern Munich have made an enquiry about another Liverpool star after Cody Gakpo.
The German club are not having the best of transfer windows, having missed out on several transfer targets.
Florian Wirtz snubbed Bayern to join Liverpool on a British record transfer from Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayern Munich have also missed out on Nico Williams, with Williams agreeing terms with Barcelona instead, leading to the Bundesliga champions to turn their attention towards an ‘unbelievable’ Liverpool player.
Bayern Munich make enquiry for Luis Diaz
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that Bayern have made an enquiry for Luis Diaz, as they continue to assess potential options for the left side of their attack.
Diaz is a player Bayern really like, but he would not come cheap, which is a problem for the Bavarians.
They have previously also shown interest in Cody Gakpo, but the Dutchman is not available for sale..
Vincent Kompany’s side are in search of a left-sided attacker with several players being considered, including Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli.
It was earlier reported by TBR Football that the Gunners are in contact with Arsenal to sign Martinelli.
Liverpool are expected to sell Luis Diaz after backing away from contract talks
While Bayern may not be able to sign Diaz, the player is expected to leave Anfield this summer.
TBR Football has recently reported that Liverpool have backed away from talks with Diaz regarding a new deal, indicating that they are now looking to sell him.
The Merseyside giants are hoping to sell him to the Saudi Pro League, with TBR Football previously reporting that Diaz would be open to a move to Saudi.
Selling him could be a risky move given what he brings to the Liverpool side. Not only is he versatile enough to play across the front three, but his technical ability and quick feet sets him apart from other players.
Since joining the club in 2022, he has made 148 appearances for the club, scoring 41 and assisting 23 across all competitions, establishing himself as a firm fan favourite at Liverpool.
