Trent Alexander-Arnold has won his first match since signing for Real Madrid after beating Pachuca at the Club World Cup. They overcame an early red card to triumph 3-1 over the Mexican team.

Jude Bellingham opened the scoring for Madrid, with Arda Guler doubling their advantage just before half-time. Federico Valverde scored their third midway through the second half, while Elias Montiel scored a consolation goal minutes after Alexander-Arnold was substituted.

Madrid are now top of Group H on goal difference despite drawing their opening match 1-1 with Al-Hilal. That is because Red Bull Salzburg drew 0-0 versus the Saudi Pro League side after winning only 2-1 against Pachuca in their opening match. Madrid and Salzburg play later this week.

"First win in white!" Alexander-Arnold captioned a post on Instagram afterwards. "Hala Madrid (white heart emoji)."

Bellingham was one of several teammates to comment on it. "Cook (fire emoji)", the England international responded. Jordan Henderson also responded with a clapping hands emoji and a red heart one.

"Let's gooo mate," Brahim Diaz said, punctuating the comment with two fire emojis. Guler also responded "quality", again adding a fire emoji.

Fellow summer signing Dean Huijsen, however, called out his new teammate for how he celebrated the goals. Two of the photos Alexander-Arnold posted show him with his mouth wide out, to which the former Bournemouth player wrote: "Close your mouth".

Several former Liverpool teammates liked the post, including Adrian, Andy Robertson, Cody Gakpo, Curtis Jones, Dominik Szoboszlai, Georginio Wijnaldum, Henderson, Ibrahima Konate, Kaide Gordon, Lewis Koumas, Luis Diaz and Tyler Morton.

Alexander-Arnold also shared posts from Fran Garcia and Guler on his Instagram story, featuring photos they had tagged him in. He dubbed the latter a "big player" on his post, which read: "Thank you to the Madridistas who are always there for us, no matter where we are in the world."
