Leeds United are keen on bringing Joe Gomez to Elland Road this summer.

With a deal for Jaka Bijol imminent, Leeds United are well underway in their hunt for reinforcements ahead of their Premier League return, though several more additions will be needed.

Attacking signings will be the priority soon, though Daniel Farke will look to take advantage of any opportunity that emerges this summer, with a potential deal for Gomez in the pipeline.

The Liverpool star has been linked with a move to Elland Road, in what could prove to be a risky transfer if a deal is pursued.

Gomez wage demands to serve as stumbling Leeds block

Liverpool are said to be willing to let Gomez leave for £30million this summer, which has attracted interest from the Whites among several other Premier League sides.

However, his wages and injury record will come up as an argument against the signing, with Paul Robinson highlighting the risk behind the deal.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, he said: “I think you’re taking a risk on a player’s injury record, but if the player’s fit now and you’re confident keeping him fit, then why not take the opportunity.

“But you look at the wage demands, and that would probably blow Leeds’ wage structure out of the water immediately.

“That’s going to have to happen anyway in the Premier League. If you’re talking the likes of Joe Gomez, Aaron Ramsdale, those types of players, you’re going to have to pay them.

“Joe Gomez is very versatile, can play anywhere across the back four, but the injury record would be the only thing that worries me.”

Farke needs to be backed by Leeds

Leeds are in dire need of several more additions this summer, though the likelihood is that they will address those concerns in the coming weeks.

With the Premier League season still just shy of two months away, time is on the side of the Whites, though they will not be afforded any margin for error when it comes to the decisions that they make this summer.
