Cornerback Darius Slay has seen more than his share Aaron Rodgers over the years, dating back to the days when the Green Bay Packers' QB was winning his four NFL MVP trophies.
So naturally, now, Slay is glad he's got Rodgers on his side.
Slay, who arrives in Pittsburgh with a newly-minded Super Bowl ring earned with the Philadelphia Eagles, and Rodgers, trying to recover his past glory after a failed term with the New York Jets, are now teammates with the Steelers.
They are both very much "been there/done that'' guys in the NFL ... and if Slay's take is to be believed?
They can do it again.
"His arm strength’s still there," Slay said about Rodgers (via Mina Kimes' show.) "Of course, it's not like he's 20 (years old), but it's still the fact that he can still get the ball to a position where the receiver can make a play on it.
"I think he's a great addition. ... It's gonna be fun."
Slay also mentioned "young guy'' rookie Will Howard who is here to learn from QB1. But this is all about Rodgers, and during the 41-year-old's initial experiences with the Steelers seems to have created a positive impression for a club that doesn't have losing seasons ... but one that also hasn't won a playoff game in a decade.
"There is,'' Slay said, "nothing he don't know. So that's just great for us. ... I’ve been playing against him; we was in the same division for [seven] years ... Man, he's still doing what he does."
