Leeds United ‘do not intend to give up’ – Whites set to relaunch effort, higher offer expected

Earlier today, we covered a report from Monday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport which stated Leeds United are putting pressure on after making an initial offer for Nikola Krstovic last week.

Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, local to the player’s club Lecce, report the Whites are expected to make a renewed attempt for the player.

Leeds United ‘do not intend to give up’ on their target, even after Lecce rejected the initial €23m offer earlier this month. The newly promoted Premier League club are said to believe the player’s value can soar in the future, so not only can he be useful now but also bring in a fee when it’s time to sell.

AS Roma are also interested in the 25-year-old. They are yet to make an offer but when they do, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will put forward a player as part payment, something which is a lot more common in Italian football.

There’s absolute insistence in Italy that Leeds United interest is real and that the Yorkshire club are making real efforts to try and get a deal done. Whether they’ll be successful or not remains to be seen.
