Wolves manager Vitor Pereira has shared his verdict on working with Matheus Cunha.
Cunha completed a transfer to Manchester United, and while it was painful to see him go, his move was not a surprise.
For months leading up to the summer transfer, it was expected that the Brazilian would leave Molineux for a big-money move.
Wolves fans lost trust in Cunha as the forward expressed his desire to leave in the midst of a relegation battle, forcing an exit to United in a £62.5m deal.

Vitor Pereira speaks out about Matheus Cunha’s exit
Losing a player who had contributed to 40 goals over the previous two Premier League seasons would be difficult for any club, but particularly Wolves.
Pereira is already worried about transfers due to how tight the owners’ purse strings are, but the show must go on and the Brazilian must be replaced.
It’s a difficult scenario for the Wolves manager to combat ahead of the 2025/26 calendar, though, it’s fair to say that Pereira has had time to assess his options.
In an interview with Spanish publication Marca, the boss opened up about Cunha as a player, noting that he was aware that the 26-year-old had his sights set on a transfer.

“He’s a special player, capable of deciding a match in seconds. He has enormous talent. I gave him confidence to put his talent to work for the team, and he’s contributed a lot.
“However, he felt he had to leave, and now he’ll have the opportunity to reaffirm his position at a club like Manchester United.”
Pereira lauded his former player’s ‘enormous talent’, but unfortunately, the Brazilian’s legacy at Molineux has been tainted by his public desire to leave.
Wolves fans feel disrespected by Cunha’s social media activity, stressing the importance of the club to replace him sufficiently to move swiftly on from his transfer.

When will Cunha make his Man United debut?
Fans feel that Rayan Ait-Nouri conducted himself better than Cunha when it came to leaving Wolves.
The Brazilian has been warned about possibly being booed in WV1, which would be a sour reception for a player who, for all his flaws, was a remarkable servant.
Cunha will return to Molineux in December in the Premier League as a Man United player, but for now, he’s still waiting for his debut.
Man United’s pre-season schedule kicks off on July 19th when the Red Devils face Leeds United in Stockholm, a fixture that Cunha is likely to be a part of.
Wolves fans will watch what the 26-year-old does closely, but a firmer eye will be had on what their own club can produce to replace the former maverick.
