It was a disappointing tenure for Jesper Lindstrom at Everton, as the final decision seems to have been made.
Everton had a few transfer misses from last summer, as despite Iliman Ndiaye proving to be a success, there were also failures.
These failures mostly stemmed from Lindstrom’s loan spell from Napoli and Jack Harrison’s second season, which didn’t live up to the billing.
Despite both loans ending, Lindstrom and Harrison returning isn’t off the table, with David Moyes potentially still exploring this possibility further down the line.
Moyes is pondering over Harrison, but now a fresh update has all but confirmed Lindstrom’s future with Everton.

Jesper Lindstrom’s Everton future has been made much clearer
The Danish midfielder didn’t have the best of times at Everton.
There was much promise that arrived with the 25-year-old who needed to rejuvenate his career after flopping at Napoli, as his time at Eintracht Frankfurt proved that there is a player in there.

Nevertheless, he couldn’t find his fortunes in the Premier League with Lindstrom’s tenure ‘mediocre’ for Everton, grabbing just the one goal contribution.
This has led to the Dane having his future summed up, as a return to the Toffees doesn’t look to be on the cards, and it seems his career path lies elsewhere.
The Print Edition of Tutto Sport (22/06/25) have reported that Napoli want Bologna’s Dan Ndoye and are trying to include Lindstrom in the deal after returning from his loan at Everton, as the Serie A champions are looking to offload the midfielder.

Moyes did discuss signing Lindstrom permanently for Everton
It’s a real shame that Lindstrom’s loan spell didn’t work out, as the midfielder clearly has the quality.
Some players struggle to emulate their form from different leagues, and that appears to be the case with Lindstrom, who was highly regarded in the early days of his time in the Bundesliga.
His only Everton goal contribution did actually come for Harrison’s only goal last campaign (2:52), as both players combined in a rare moment.
Moyes was actually a fan at the start of his return to the Toffees, as Everton looked to sign Lindstrom permanently for £19m.
However, judging by his end of the season, the Dane couldn’t do enough to impress Moyes, and Bologna could be his next destination.
