Premier League champions Liverpool have already been busy during this summer’s transfer window, adding two new players to Arne Slot’s squad.
The Reds have signed full-back Jeremie Frimpong and attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from German giants Bayer Leverkusen, bolstering Slot’s squad as they look to defend their crown next term.
Liverpool will host Bournemouth on the opening day of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign, and both Frimpong and Wirtz will hope to feature in the encounter.
One member of Slot’s squad that has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield is defender Joe Gomez, but Football Insider claims that the defender is likely to stay put.
The report claims that the Englishman is happy at Liverpool and isn’t pushing for a move away from Merseyside, despite a relatively lack of game time since Slot took charge last summer.

In total Gomez made just 17 appearances across all competitions for the Reds last term, starting just six of their 38 Premier League games.
Gomez joined Liverpool from Charlton Athletic in 2015 but has struggled to ever establish himself as a guaranteed starter over a prolonged period of time.
The England international has made more than 240 appearances for the club in total, however, and he is under contract until 2027.
It is claimed that newly-promoted sides Sunderland and Leeds United could both be interested in the defender, who can operate as a central defender a full-back on either flank.
Despite potential interest from elsewhere, the report suggests that Gomez is happy at Anfield and intends to be part of Slot’s squad for next season.
The defender could also benefit from Jarell Quansah’s impending departure, with the centre-back set to join Bayer Leverkusen.
