Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija will play for the Israel National team for FIBA’s EuroBasket 2025, according to Joshua Halickman of The Jerusalem Post:
The Israel National Team will begin its preparations for EuroBasket 2025 on July 20, and on Sunday, the full roster for the start of training was announced. Coach Ariel Beit Halachmi has called up 20 players, relying overwhelmingly on players who played throughout the qualifying campaign. Portland Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija will return to the national team for the first time since EuroBasket 2022.
Avdija is the only Israeli-born player in the NBA. The rest of the Israel National Team roster includes mostly professional players in Israel, but also include Ben Saraf from Germany’s Ratiopharm Ulm and former Blazer T.J. Leaf from China’s Nanjing Monkey Kings. Leaf spent 7 games with Portland in the 2020-21 season, his last in the NBA.
